Acetaminophen
Dosing should be no closer than every 4 hours as needed. Acetaminophen is effective as a pain and fever reducer. It can be given to infants under 6 months of age.
Ibuprofen
Do not use in infants under 6 months old. Ibuprofen dosing should be spaced at least 6 hours apart. It is effective as a pain and fever reducer, but also has the advantage of acting to reduce inflammation. This is particularly helpful in injuries and swelling.
Benadryl
Please consult our office for dosing of infants under the age of 6 months old. Benadryl or diphenhydramine may be dosed every 4-6 hours.
