Since opening our doors in 2001, Advanced Pediatrics has earned an exemplary reputation for excellence in pediatric care in Vienna, Virginia, and throughout the National Capital Region.
Advanced Pediatrics stands out because we're an independent practice with a small clinic feel. Parents and children feel welcomed, supported, and understood with this personalized approach.
We offer well-child visits, sick visits, newborn care, mental health services, and most other care their young patients need. We emphasize inclusivity, always welcoming neurotypical, neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+ patients, children with mental health challenges, and children with complex medical needs.
Advanced Pediatrics is an integrative medical facility using traditional and alternative methods of care based on what works best for each child. The practice always emphasizes evidence-based medicine for the whole child’s health.
Advanced Pediatrics makes quality care convenient for parents and children. We offer lab testing, vision and hearing screenings, allergy testing, vaccinations, neuropsychological testing, and other tests on-site. Additionally, Advanced Pediatrics can send electronic prescriptions to any pharmacy.
The practice continually expands our services and resources, currently offering parenting classes, Saturday hours, Drive-Up clinics, and on-call advice 24-7 through a trusted nurse’s line.
The doctors, advanced practice providers, nursing team, administration professionals, and all members of the Advanced Pediatrics team are dedicated and compassionate experts with extensive specialized training. Our collaborative approach ensures that every child gets the most personalized and supportive care.

History of the Place Where Every Child Blossoms
July 1989
Happy Child was planned by Helen White as a private kindergarten for kids of different backgrounds in NY.
November 1990
We found our perfect building for the educational center, obtained all the required licences and, finally, opened our doors.
Mid-1990’s
We have expanded the range of services offered by adding preschool and other programs for children aged 4-5 years.
November 1991-95
Happy Child expands again to open its Infant & Toddler Home Daycare Program with 10 certified home care providers.

We moved to a new location in New York, had 50 teachers in the staff, and greeted warmly 100+ kids every morning.

A Safe and Exciting Space with Everything Your Child Needs
We have created a truly unique center for children with different needs.
Classrooms
Children have to learn and grow in a safe, nurturing environment. We are proud to provide a variety of classrooms tailored to the children's age and the number of children attending. We have special areas with educational materials, books, games, and toys, as well as art workspaces, and areas for eating and napping. The center also offers a large indoor playroom for exercise in bad weather.
Nutrition
Breakfasts, lunches, and snacks are included in tuition. We strive to meet all individual dietary needs through careful communication with parents. We contract with the company which supplies the Happy Childhood kitchen with 100% local and organic food products. All meals do not contain hormones, antibiotics, and peanuts and comply with FDA and DCFS nutrition requirements.
Outdoors
Our spacious outdoor space is just another Happy Childhood's classroom and a feature of our learning center! Beautiful garden, two bike paths, and a big playground offer a wide range of daily activities. All children go outdoors twice a day when the weather conditions are good. Outdoor playing strengthens our center's community and increases the children's readiness for kindergarten.

Our providers are well respected in the medical community and work closely with pediatric specialists at INOVA Children's Hospital in Fairfax, VA, Children's National Medical Center in Washington DC, and Johns Hopkins Children's Center in Baltimore, MD. Through these relationships, other learning initiatives and of course, by being parents themselves, our providers are constantly enhancing their clinical skills to provide the best care for your children. Our doctors not only provide exemplary care, they have contributed to the study and development of new medications, vaccinations, and diagnostic tests. This research tradition spans more than 15 years and elevates Advanced Pediatrics as an innovator in children's health care. While participation in research studies is ALWAYS optional, families are often eager to join in on the fun.

I believe that all children are capable of learning and that it is my job to create a learning environment that is tailored to each child's individual needs and interests.
I use a variety of teaching methods, including hands-on activities, music, and stories, to engage the little ones and help them learn. I am also definitely a strong advocate for play.

I'm is a passionate preschool teacher with over 3 years of experience working with children ages 3-5.
I am is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can learn and grow. I create a variety of play opportunities for children, both indoors and outdoors, to encourage them to be active and creative.
Judith Berger
With a graduate degree in Early Childhood Education and years of experience in teaching, I understand the unique needs of kindergarten-aged children.
I embrace a holistic approach to teaching English, incorporating various teaching methods to cater to each child's individual learning style. My lessons are filled with creativity, songs, interactive games, and role-play.
